Dr. Nassanga Elected as Media Council Chairperson

DR NASSANGA ELECTED AS MEDIA COUNCIL CHAIRPERSON

The Media Council in its Plenary meeting of 10th July 2008 unanimously elected Dr Goretti Nassanga as its Chairperson.

Dr Nassanga has replaced the former Chairman, the Late Rev.Fr. Prof. John Mary Waliggo who passed away on the 19th April 2008.

The Council also unanimously elected Dr. Amooti Katebalirwe as its Deputy Chairperson of the Council.

Dr Nassanga who is also a Senior Lecturer and Coordinator of Master’s Programme, Mass Communication Department, Makerere University will also head the Media council Disciplinary Committee which handles disputes related to the media in the country.
